Sparkles?

Sparkling

Dog Blog Post #386: Sometimes I think the Daily Shoot is all about humility. Just when you think everything is going swimmingly, and you're feeling pretty smug, they throw you under the bus.

Ok, that's probably a bit harsh, taking things a tad too personally, but given today's assignment of...

Make a photo of something that sparkles in some way.

It does make one wonder.

Sparkly.

Miss Bunny can do sparkly - with her lovely greyhound neck and those stunning collars of hers.

But goldens aren't greyhounds, and anything smaller than a good-sized dinner napkin just isn't going to be seen though even a Henry-sized puppy ruff, let alone a manly ruff like Zachary sports. (And you could loose small children in Beau's luxurious ruff. No really, it happened! More than once!)

But back to sparky. Or the lack there of. You can see my best effort, on the top of the post. (Yawn). Other than the cute little rainbow, there isn't much going for it.

I do have something of an excuse, as the boys were out all day at the day spa, not returning until the only sun left (a rather necessary component of "sparkly" if you don't have much in the way of indoor lighting) was what you see there.

Over water.

Yeah, excuses excuses. Trust me, the thought of breaking out the mister and squirting Henry on the head did cross my mind. And if he wasn't so darn clean and fluffy I might have just followed through on it!

Oh well, tomorrow dawns a new day.

How about a dog (but not my dog) Scavenger Challenge picture? I liked this one! This is for "We tend to ignore the back side of potential subjects. No butts, please!"

Back Side

As I stated in the description...

I was at a park and this woman with her lovely black dog were watching some kids playing. The entire time I stood there, she kept up a gentle ruffling of the fur on the back side of the dog's head.

It was totally unselfconscious and very sweet. :)

And finally, for "something fuzzy"...

Lamb's Ears

Lamb's Ears.

This was the 4th day I'd tried to take a picture of them, and finally gave up, figuring this was as good as it was going to get. For some reason the white hairs kept blowing out (highlights, that is).

Must test "Sit" tomorrow. Really don't want to fall behind on my CM101 class before I even get started!

I think the sparkly photo is pretty darn clever. How on earth do you make a rainbow?

The scavenger photo is a different take on the subject:) I'm very inclined to do that sort of thing to my dogs whenever they're near. It makes me feel good anyway:)

I still like your sparkly picture, and I admit it, I thought of your mister, too! I can picture water drops sparkling on the ends of Henry's long eyelashes. I struggled more with the assignment than I thought I would. Mainly because it's so blankety blank hot outside! I didn't want a picture of a sparkly dog tongue hanging to the ground. Maybe you ought to pick up some sparkly props, like a ball or a few stars that you could pose around them. Catching those sparkles is a lot trickier than it looks!

*sigh* I have NO idea what I'm going to go for today's DS, either! Gah! And I have to go to work tomorrow, too. Drat! Holding down a job and getting the DS in is a bit more challenging.

Ahhh, your sparkly photo looks great.

And for the record. I've been trying to pull photos to put together a portfolio. Yesterday, everything I had in my cache looked like crap. Complete crap.

I feel your pain.
