Robin Hood

Of course he gives to the poor. What does a Golden need with more Gold?

Dog Blog Post #2379

A sneak peak at Zachary as Robin Hood.

The hat was finished this week, but lacks a handsome feather.

The... the... I don't even know what you call it... the green thingie around his neck, which will someday be a tabbed/crenelated collar/vest, was just a scrap of fabric earlier today.

I'm thinking I'll cut slits every couple inches along the lower edge, up to the middle seam line - so it looks like one of those kiosk fliers advertising for roommates, "Tear off a tab for our number!"

Maybe snip off the corners of each tab to give them a bit of pizazz.

Then stitch around each to create contrast and hold the layers together.

But, for the moment, it's two long rectangles, stitched at top and middle, and safety pinned at the neck.

That's as far as I got today.

A speedlight, with attached softbox, sitting on the floor.

Hopefully, the dramatic lighting makes up for incompleteness of his outfit.

Long Day's Work?

An early lighting test shot... that failed.

This is a wide aperture shot, using a small LED headlamp as a light source.

While I ultimately didn't go with the setup, I did like the pose and atmosphere.

In Lightroom, "Clarity" is your friend with images like this, and here I maxed that slider out.

You have left me speechless....almost....these are spectacular! It's got that whole medieval atmosphere, dark and mysterious. The goblets are gorgeous and the hat and the cape...they are just awesome and becoming on Zachary. He plays the part well.

The yellowish glow couldn't be more perfect. The whole picture is beautiful. Wish I could describe better what I see and how it makes me feel, but just looking at these two pics still leaves me speechless.
