Daily Dog Challenge 1350. "Imperfect"

Making lemonade from a shot of the boys looking in opposite directions - an artifact of the hats covering their eyes so they didn't know which way the other was looking.

Usually, by their own choice, they pose in sync.

Behind The Scenes

Behind the Scenes
Repurposed Dog Crate

Spent a fair bit time this weekend picking up this corner of the family room, which tends to collect backdrops, costumes, props, and oft used photography equipment.

When taking pictures, the camera sits just in front of the side of the leather sofa that you see on the far right, looking into the kitchen, which is behind us.

Usually, Photography Stuff accumulates on top the unused dog crate (that black wire box - large enough to comfortably hold a full-grown Golden Retriever) and blue rocking chair (far left) until I get tired of looking at it, or it starts to fall over, and I finally drag the (now empty) boxes and bins from my closet and put everything back where it belongs.

Ugh.

Tiring of that, I purchased some appropriately sized bins and wire shelf stands this weekend and set to work seeing if I could construct a mini-closet just for photography.

After all, it's only been four+ years since Henry - or anyone else - last used this crate. It's sole purpose in life now being to keep the sofa from "walking" backwards across the hardwood floor, and to give Henry a "den" in the gap between the back of the crate and the bookcases beyond that.

Anyway, the bins you see here are pretty long (29"x18"x6" 41qt each) and hold mostly backdrop fabrics, while the three white wire shelf stands on the right keep the backdrop stands and reflector-holding tripod neat and orderly.

The camera tripod (the big black thing standing on the far left) and the flash tripod (the little black thing standing to the right of it) will stand up against the bins on the right, in front of the wire stands.

The reflectors and umbrella bags are on top of the bins (black and hard to see) with the blue drool rag NOT in a bin as it needs to air out. :)

The door closes and everything is neatly tucked inside.

We'll see how long it lasts.

I like your idea! I have Harlow's big crate that we keep, but I'd love to repurpose!
