Still Life - with a Dog

Ok Henry,  let's give this a try.

I'm going to recreate an Old Master painting at some point, and I want to see how this backdrop and "hat" will work.

Old Master
Henry: "How do I look?"

Marvelous!

Old Master
Henry: "Really Momma?"

Yes, sweetie. You are perfect.

Old Master
Henry: "Perfect…"

Dog Blog Post #1412

I've been wanting to recreate an Old Master painting for a while now, and today's Still Life and Past challenges seemed like a good time to give the basic setup a go.

(No, this isn't a particular painting, just trying out a color scheme I don't normally use, plus seeing if I could create the "hat".)

The "hat", BTW, is a raw square of black fabric wrapped, tied, and poofed around their green bowler hat, with the excess squished inside the crown.

It worked, sort of, but was hard for the boys to balance.

Overall, I was rather pleased with this little "sketch", and look forward to trying again once I get the rest of the costume assembled to match a painting I have in mind.

Old Master
Zachary: "Heh - what does that pup know about perfect?"

Old Master
Zachary: "Uh oh… hat slipping…"

Old Master
Zachary: "Wardrobe Malfunction!"
