King for the Day

Dog Blog Post #2206

Ah, the emotions of a photographer...

The curiosity to see what the day's topics will be.
The despair realizing you haven't a prop that will work.
The joy when an idea hits you of something you can make.
The frustration when your third attempt to create the prop fails.
The jubilation when it finally comes together.
The resignation when you realize you should have been about 3 feet closer.

And it's too late to reshoot it.

Our Daily Challenge - July 11, 2016 - "Filigree"

Crown and robe.

Daily Dog Challenge 11715. "Delicate"

Actually I *did* shoot the "crown" closer.

I shot it mere inches away, and I think it came out rather nice.

There just isn't a dog in the image.

(sigh)

For the curious, the "crown" is a collection of filigreed links I picked up a few months ago (on sale!) and was just waiting an idea of what to do with them.

They are whipped together with embroidery thread, and then attached to a narrow strip of plastic canvas for stability.

Unfortunately, I didn't consider that the crown is open on top, so you can see the canvas on the back side of the links on the back side of the crown unless the camera was low and the boys held their heads high.

Perhaps I should glue some black felt around the inside.

Hmm....
