New Sheriffs In Town

Sheriff Zachary

Dog Blog Post #526: Today's Daily Dog Challenge was...

33. On Top - Let's see something on top of your dog, whether it's a hat, a book, a coat or something more creative.

... and I freely admit to whispering in the Daily Dog Challenge selection committee chairwoman's ear that something "On Top"-ish would be mighty nice for the weekend. That's because I was looking at:

111 Pictures in 2011 - "#50. Rustic"

... and I had just snatched up a wonderful peace of faux-leather at 60% off at the fabric store. I've only been eyeing the piece since LAST winter, but at $16 a yard (and needing two yards) I just wasn't able to bring myself to buy it.

As luck would also have it, Scavenge Challenge had: "6. Summer or winter, stylish or functional, let's break out those hats!"

The setup was easy, but I did have to slave a bit over the post-production as the new fabric seems prone to glare/shine. After trying several things, I was finally able to "fix" it with a healthy dose of surgically applied vignetting. Here's the exact image as above, without the extra vignetting, which was only applied to the "leather" portion of the image.

As the boys are fully comfortable in hats these days, I got a lot of shots I was happy with...

Even the Precious Puppy allowed himself to be costumed up...

Bunny wants to know if they're cracking out the satin top hats, bow ties and champagne flutes for New Year's Eve. They both make mighty handsome cowboys! I'm glad the new fabric worked out! lol It was worth it to see that assignment!
