Off to the V-E-T

This is Zachary at the V-E-T.

Zachary at the V-E-T
Zachary: "Oh woe is me."

A crop of above...

Zachary's Ear
Zachary: "The V-E-T stepped out for a moment and took all the Cookies."

Notice anything odd?

Zachary's Ear
Zachary: "Who cares about the ear, I want more of those yummy Cookies."

That little lump...

Zachary's Ear
Zachary: "Starving... wasting away..."

... should most definitely NOT be there. :(

Dog Blog Post #2018

Poor Zachary - at the vet's to have a suddenly appearing ear hematoma looked at.

We had it drained for now, and will keep an eye on it.

It was fairly small, so there's a chance it will resolve itself.

Finger's crossed!

If it returns, we could try draining again and adding steroids.

If that doesn't help then we'll have to choose between letting it heal on its own, which apparently takes weeks with the high probably of the ear becoming "hard and crinkly", or he'll need surgery to open it, drain it, and numerous sutures to quilt the ear back together, which takes weeks to heal and still can result in a certain amount of hard and crinkly.

Joy.

Daily Dog Challenge 1528. "Too Much Is Never Enough"

Definitely NOT the picture was planning on taking, but oddly fitting, as it seems it was caused by him either shaking his head too much or playing too much.

(sigh)

By The Soft Glow...

Wordless Wednesday, as some shoots need no captions...

Pretty Lights

Pretty Lights

Dog Blog Post #2017

Henry, by the Warm Glow of a Christmas Light Bulb necklace.

Not sure why I like that top shot, but I really do!

I had the camera pushed back because I was planning on having both dogs in the shot, then realized I needed to get the light settings worked out before I brought fidgety Zachary on board.

In the end, the autofocus and I had artistic differences, and the shots of both dogs were a total write-off.

It is a wide aperture, slow exposure, low flash shot: f/3.5, 1/30s, ISO 100, -2EV.

And no, the bulbs don't get hot. :)

Tower

Big Tower
The boys and a Big Tower

Dog Blog Post #2016

The boys decided to visit the Isle of Minecraft today, and look at the lovely Angular Tower they found!

Our Daily Challenge - Jan 4, 2015 - "Tower"

Uh... no. I don't actually play Minecraft. I picked up the Pocket Edition app for my iPad yesterday on the off chance I could create a fun background with it.

So while the Niners were squeaking out one final win for the season (and thus slipping from 4th to 7th in the draft) and the Raiders failed to even out their season, I essentially played with digital LEGOs.

The fact I created a tower was entirely coincidental!

Not sure if this is a direction worth pursuing, but if you are looking for a way to waste a few hours, I found the experience oddly satisfying.

That's It?

Well, um... yes.

The boys were shot in front a white backdrop, and it took some work in Photoshop Elements to get the Minecraft screenshot and masked image of the boys melded together.

Plus our main drive ran out of disk space, so I had the quarterly joy of dragging my photo files from the Lightroom on the main drive to the Lightroom on the MUCH larger (but slower) backup drive.

So... yes, I'm afraid that's all there is.

But we will probably be back to our normal programming tomorrow!
