Dog Blog Post #2046
The boys love the evening ritual of the Photo Shoot, and won't settle down for the evening until it occurs.
Is it the Cookies that flow freely? The undivided (or at worst bifurcated) attention? The possibility of a novel and/or edible prop?
Most likely some combination of all of the above.
The shoot typically takes place in my Kitchen, which is transformed into a "Studio" in a few short minutes with two sheets of trifold cardboard, some lengths of fabric, a few lights, some props, and my trusty camera.
Henry always goes first. This was originally a concession to his youth, holding reliable Zachary as Plan B in case things didn't work as planned.
At this point it's part habit, part Henry's whining and fussing if he DOESN'T get to go first, but mostly because the pup has the patience of a saint and is happy to cool his paws for however long it takes to get things set up.
He knows where he's supposed to be, and trots over and lays there until the Cookies come out indicating we are ready to begin.
Here he is, unposed, having plopped himself down on the dog bed and fabric I was going to use. I draped the damask fabric over him and went about my business getting set up.
He happily dozed until I was ready.

Once the shoot begins, Henry's mind is completely focused on the Cookies while his patience holds him place until I get the shot. This makes him very "moldable" and steady.

In contrast, Zachary likes to work quickly. He goes from 0 to 60 with the flick of a Cookie, and is always trying to guess what I want before I ask for it - which can lead to some rather amusing moments.
