Life of the Party!

Celebration

Dog Blog Post #499: Take today's Daily Dog Challenge...

"#6. Plain Background - A plain background can really set your dog off. Find a plain background and take a picture of your dog in front of it."

... add in the Scavenge Challenge item...

"1) Look for a ribbon tied in a bow. It can be fabric, ceramic, etc."

... and throw in a matched pair from 111 Pictures in 2011 and Artistic Temperament Scavenger Hunt...

"Celebration"

... and you get the shot above.

Spend too long taking pictures, and you get the "post-celebration" shot below...

Post-Celebration

Ah well, live and learn.

These were taken in the kitchen with the following setup...

Note that I'm getting a blue tint on the right (due to the window just out of frame) and a yellow tint on the left (from the incandescent lights above) that no amount of slider shoving is going to fix. (sigh)

Under the stretchy black velvet fabric (2 yards) are two trifold cardboard backboard (think: science fair) that are vertically stacked to give me an extra foot of height, held together with butterfly clips, and rubber banded to the drawer pulls (behind the backboard) to keep things snug. (That last bit is new, added after Henry's butt bumped the backboards, causing them to fall over onto Zachary. Intentional? The Precious Puppy vehemently denies it, but...)

Finally, the ends of the fabric are tucked into the next drawers over to give me a bit more width and keep the fabric taut.

Behind it all is my kitchen range, thus requiring the whole thing to be set up and then immediately broken down again, every time I want to use it.

I really like seeing the set up you use. Most of the time I take pictures upstairs in the attic, because I get better light up there for longer.

I forgot that you update your blog every day! I try to get most of mine done over the weekend, so I forgot about the WW. I'm sure I can come up with something!

OK, I commented on the Challenge and not here!

Your 'set' is simple but very effective. I need to think about getting something organised and try and find a decent light seeing as my house is so dark even in Summer.

The second shot of the boys is worth a thousand words!

Oh, and I can't get lacrosse balls in my little town. I didn't think it would be played anywhere but the big cities ... and there aren't many of them in New Zealand. So I've got to send away for one, which I will do eventually:)

Will those boys be under the tree looking like that? I love the spin on a hat.
