Happy Birthday

Somebody very special has a Birthday today, and the boys were so excited to be invited to the party.

Zachary: "Thank you for inviting us!"
Henry: "Happy Birthday!"

Once there, they did the typical Birthday Party things.

They gossiped for a while...

Zachary: "Did you hear what Miss Kitty did when the delivery man..."

Smiled for pictures...

"Cheesy Burgers!"

Tried not to look bored or complain when the speeches ran long...

(sigh)

Failed.

Zachary: "Is it time to eat yet?"
Henry: "I will if you will."

And then finally, when it seemed they could wait no longer...

Dog Blog Post #1027

Oh what fun - the boys were invited to a Birthday Party for someone very special down at Le Petit Chaton - Miss Kitty's newly opened Treat Shop.

Looks like they had the typical Paper sign, wishing a Happy Birthday, plus paper hats, a paper gift bag with tissue paper, and cookie-filled paper cups on paper doilies.

It's amazing how much of our world is Paper

Vanishing

Henry: "Momma, shouldn't I be facing the other direction?"

No, sweetie. Today we are trying to demonstrate a Vanishing Point.

Henry: "My rump is vanishing to a point?"

Next!

Zachary: "You do realize you have me pointing the wrong way, don't you?"

Really?

Oh my goodness, Zachary,  I hadn't notice.

Zachary: "I can't work under these conditions."

Dog Blog Post #1026

Despite taking a fair number of shots, I never got quite the angle from the boys that I was looking for.

The problem of being lone photographer with living subjects, I suppose.

In the top shot, Henry's nose was turned just a little bit too far away from the camera to be the Vanishing Point I was hoping for. In the shot below it, he was turned a bit too far towards the camera.

Zachary's shots suffered from various positioning ills as well.

At least the boys' coats look rich, golden and (for Henry at least) wonderfully lush (if you aren't the one who has to sweep up after him), and hopefully qualify as Beauty Found.

In the Background

I'm really happy with a recent pair of fabrics I picked up, the one above a brown Batik and its blue version shown in yesterday's Shocking! post.

At $12 a yard - and I need 2 yards - it was a well outside my preferred price range for background fabrics. However, I lucked out and found it 2/3 off on close-out.

Finally, a rich blue fabric that doesn't turn the boys a weird color and the brown manages to both blend into the background yet bring out their golden tones.

Return of Flower Power

Just when you thought I'd finally run out of Flower Power shots, we have Zachary...

Groovy!

Shocking!

Dog Blog Post #1025

Hmm... I wonder what Zachary just found out?

Photography Assignment

I'm thinking...

Our Daily Challenge - April 18, 2013 - "Coming to our Senses"

... can be precipitated by something shocking, and our looking rather like Mr. Zachary, above.

Daily Dog Challenge "535. It's Elemental"

... as in, he's as good as Gold, inside and out! :)

FWIW: My original idea involved Cookies, a willing dog nose, and a fan (hence the windblown look in some of the pictures, below) but the top shot was too funny to pass up!

The Rest

School pictures, anyone?

Obligatory Henry shot.

One, two, three... Awwww :)
