Problems

How hard can it possibly be to find a stuffed parrot???

I went to FOUR stores (one Craft, two Pet, and a Halloween store) and came up parrotless.

I found Pink flamingos, Purple hippos, and an entire stack of Pink Platypus (Platypuses? Platypodes? Platypi?)

No Parrots.

I found a Cardinal, a flock of Ducks, a clutch of chickens, and some very Angry Birds.

No Parrots.

Argh!

Prop Pointers

Did you know there is a YouTube video, by a guy who sounds rather like Captain Jack Sparrow, showing how to tie a pirate bandana?

Did you know it's incredibly hard to tie a pirate bandana on a dog's head?

After going to the effort to fold the thing, I ended up punting on the rear tieback and instead made pigtails using rubber bands and then looping string around them and around the back of Henry's head.

Can't decide if he looks more like a pirate or Raggedy Andy.

Argh!

Editor's Note: One of these days I'm going to remember (before dragging the props out) that you can NOT take a picture of a white flower against a white background, turn it B&W, and expect to see it when you're done.

Why can't I remember that simple fact? Why? Why? Why?

You could say their behavior is a mark of the breed, for the AKC Standard for the Golden Retriever states:

"Quarrelsomeness or hostility towards other dogs or people in normal situations, or an unwarranted show of timidity or nervousness, is not in keeping with Golden Retriever character. "

-OR-

If you insist on the classic definition (and have really good eyes) you might be able to spot the Treat Spot (a black mark) on Henry's tongue.

When all else fails, take bitey-face pictures. :)

It's bitey-face, not rocket science.

One camera, one Speedlight, two playful pups... yup, that just about does it.
