Cookie Safe?

Zachary: "There. No one is going to get to our Cookies now."
Henry: "No one."

Wow guys, I didn't realize you knew how to open the Bear Can.

That's a pretty cool trick.

Zachary: "Right."
Henry: (sniff sniff sniff)

Zachary: "You know Henry, our plan might have a tiny little flaw."
Henry: (censored)

"Mom!"

Daily Dog Challenge 1721. "Who Knew?"

Sirius, the "Dog Star", is a binary star system found in the constellation Canis Major (The Great Dog).

It was known to the ancient Egyptians, and recorded in the earliest astronomical records.

A Dog Star... with a tongue?

Zachary: "Aaaaarrroooooooooo!"

Truth in Advertising: No, the boys don't actually howl.

They won't howl if we howl, although they do jump around and get very excited.

They won't howl if they hear other dogs howl.

They won't even howl if they hear a siren.

Henry will sometimes howl in his sleep, albeit rarely. It's a long, low, mournful sound that makes me think he's dreaming of being lost and is trying to find his family again.

Or perhaps it's just his inner wolf, so deeply buried in this gentle dog that it only gets to come out in his dreams.

Parts Is Parts

Today is one of those of days when the whole wasn't greater than the parts.

That is, I preferred the non-masked images.

(sigh)

The front of the rock

This rock is about the size of my hand.

The shot, above, was my favorite picture of the shoot.

A closer view of the back of the rock

Those two images were combined in strange and mysterious ways in Photoshop Elements, and then had...

Mr. Zachary

... added.

Some additional fiddling occurred back in Lightroom to try to blend it all together.

Crystal Tower

And the tower is about 6-7" tall.  The "glow" is strictly and artifact of it reflecting the flash, and required no additional fancy lighting.

Cool, eh?

Both rock and crystal were just sitting on the floor in front of the backdrop, and I either cropped or masked the floor to make it "go away".

Mr. Henry... staring at... nothing

In both shots of the boys, they were sitting facing the black velvet and staring loving up at me... holding Cookies.
